Our Story

My name is Claire Roque, the proud owner of Old Time Apothecary. I am also a  herbalist, a school teacher and a mother who developed a passion for natural healing. In the early years of my life, I didn’t pay much attention to my health, nutrition and lifestyle until I had to. In 2022 I was diagnosed with hypertension and was put on medication. Around the same time, I discovered the show Outlander, a historical fiction series staged in 17th century Scotland whose female star is a natural healer by the name of Claire- I might add. The show birthed in me a passion for herbs and natural remedies. This led me to obtaining my Master Herbalist Diploma from Center of Excellence along with hours of experimenting with tinctures and salves, reading and talking about remedies to anyone willing to listen. I also decided to take my health into my own hands, get off the BP medication and  start using "food as medicine” not the opposite-Kudos to Hippocrates for saying that. At the same time, I changed my diet, educated myself on medicinal herbs and started exploring other natural remedies for common ailments, thus the birth of the “Old Time Apothecary”. My mission is to educate and remind people that true healing comes from nature as originally designed. Every single part of this business has derived from that same belief leading us to only use organic, non toxic materials and ingredients. We hope you join the family!
